HOW TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT – Tel:  01202 587111

chdPlease telephone the above number if you wish to make and appointment.  If you wish, we can offer you a routine appointment with a GP within 48 hours or a nurse within 24 hours; please call as soon as possible after 8:00am.  We will also offer you the opportunity to book appointments in advance. 

Requests for emergency appointments: please refer to ‘Triage’ section below.

  • Patients with urgent problems will be seen on the same day where necessary (see ‘Triage’ section)
  • Children who are ill will be seen on the same day

Please let our receptionist know if you prefer to see a particular doctor.  Please note that you have a right to request and appointment with a practitioner of your choice, however, this may not be possible where an emergency appointment is needed.  For non-urgent appointment requests this could also cause a longer than normal delay in the first available appointment that we can offer.

All patients at this practice are allocated a named GP (this is your registered GP)  You are still able/welcome to book appointments with the GP of your choice but your registered GP is responsible for your overall care.  Should you wish to know who this is please ask the receptionist.


ONLINE BOOKING - SYSTMONLINE

In order to use the Online booking system you will need to be registered. 

To register with SystmOnline please contact the surgery in person for your log on details or send a representative to the surgery with a signed consent form. (Bring along some form of identification).

 


EXTENDED ACCESS

To assist patients who may experience difficulty accessing the surgery during the above times due to, for example, work commitments, we will offer extended opening as follows. Please check the signs in the surgery for dates/days.

Surgery Extended Opening Times - Doctors

  • Tuesday (Week 1) 18:30 to 20:15
  • Wednesday (Week 2) 18:30 to 20:15

In offering every patient the individual care they deserve, delays can occasionally occur. Please be patient if this happens to you, we will not rush you through your appointment either. You should not expect to wait more than 30 minutes without receiving an explanation.

Routine appointments are generally booked at ten minute intervals, if you feel that a longer consultation is necessary, please discuss this with our receptionist when you book. She will be able to advise you if it is necessary or will seek further clarification from the Doctor/Nurse.


TRIAGE SERVICE – Tel: 01202 587111

We use a ‘triage’ service for patients requesting an urgent /same day appointment. Patients who feel they need to be seen on the same day should phone the surgery as early as possible after 8:00am.

Your call will be dealt with either by

  • An appointment with the doctor or nurse on duty being arranged
  • or by asking for your phone number so that the duty doctor can call you back during the course of surgery. You will be given advice on self-management or offered an appropriate appointment with a doctor or nurse (whichever is applicable to your condition).

We ask that wherever possible, a land-line number is given for the Doctor to call back on. The Doctors is not able to make repeated attempts to call you. Please make every effort to keep the line free and be available to take the call In this way, we aim to give all our patients the best possible service and offer appointments according to clinical need.
